Orla Kiely, every season you tempt me with new delights. Now bird prints too?
I'm sold.
And to top it off, a rucksack. Oh my.
Every couple of years I treat myself to a special item (is it referred to as an "investment piece" in the fashion world?) as a work reward. I haven't been able to take on as much work as I hoped this year because of not being too well but fingers crossed it'll still be around next year. Then again, retail therapy might be a good form of medicine at the moment!
Working on something new...
What do you think? Screenprints? Letterpress?
Hmmm. I don't know whether it works for me but I'm still in a creative slump and trying to experiment as much as possible. There's nothing more frustrating than not being able to express what you want to do (or even know what it is that you want to do in the first place).
I liken it to not being able to recall a word or name when it's on the tip of your tongue. I know there's something I should be doing with myself at the moment, I just can't quite get there.
Hurrumph.
Originally I'd planned a nice sunny post after the wonderful weather yesterday. But today, that big shiny thing in the sky has retreated (what was that again? Someone remind me) and been replaced with grey drizzle. Still, it's provided a bit of inspiration if nothing else.

In what has been a week without colour it's almost medicinal to start the weekend with a good dose of it
And talking of colour, how amazing are these prints by Tru$t Fun
This is the confectionery shop that belonged to my Grandpa's family when he was little. He went on to run his own sweet shop before becoming a London taxi driver.
Sadly he passed away last week but we all like to think it was this that made him such a sweet person.
