I haven't drawn one of these for a while...
Talking of coffee, this is what happens when I don't have enough caffeine. Everything starts turning into coffeeeee.
A trip to Greenpoint led to a tip top coffee at Cafe Grumpy and a visit to In God We Trust (more about that later). Roaming around the neighborhood (ie. getting lost) led to these pics...
Yes, that is a cage containing bagels. I have no idea why it came to be but I appreciate the creativity of its owner. And by creativity I mean how nutso they are.
So I've finally mustered enough energy to start blogging about my trip to New York. I'm afraid it'll be a bit photo heavy due to my brain still not being able to construct a proper sentence (I'm doing quite well so far though, aren't I?)
Suffice it to say, I had a lovely time. No rushing around, no incidents, just a lot of mooching and coffee drinking. Now that's my kind of holiday.
First up, The Brooklyn Flea
There were so many goodies to be had here but alas, I couldn't fit anything I wanted in my suitcase. I am painfully regretting not buying this gem though...
Update....I've just spotted my pasty white legs and knobbly knees in one of the pics. Apologies.
I'm enjoying New York immensely, mainly because I keep finding things like this...
More to come soon...
Oh Catbird, you look like a lovely treasure trove of a shop. My birthday will revolve around a visit!
And here are just a few beauties that have caught my eye...

More pre/post New York doodles...of course they relate to my two favourite things, coffee and stationery!
Cafe Grumpy has come highly recommended by everyone so far, plus the naming is very fitting for me when I haven't had my coffee fix
Kate's Paperie, surely a shop made for me in name and products
I'm off to New York at the end of this week for my birthday (hurrah!)
If any lovely readers have any tips/must see bits and pieces and most importantly, coffee recommendations they would be very welcome!
I've also decided to keep a pre/post New York sketchbook to see if my illustrations are anything like the real thing. Barney's window display is first up...
In an attempt to let you, the lovely reader, find out a little bit more about me, I am going to share some tidbits with you....
