I'm a 27 year old ad exec working in ny. I only recently stumbled upon your awesome blog from a link - I can't recall from where - of those tea room images and was enthralled with those peacock feather'd fabric chairs. After a little perusal I became a fan. I was going to describe myself but found it was almost a word for word copy of ~e's description of loving fashion, art, dance music etc...but totally a geek for science, comics, and computer stuff (except swap out science for photography maybe and you've got me in a nut shell).

I'm an 18 year old college student in California and stumbled upon your blog about a month ago and have been addicted ever since. I love your work, and am really intrigued by your style. I am an art + design major, so I love seeing what other artists out there are doing! I also have a great weakness for fashion, and thought your Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld birds were wonderful! I also have a strong love for photography, cupcakes and tea, and London in general. I'll more than likely (cross my fingers) be interning there summer of 2010. And again, lovely work!

I'm 21, studied a degree in surface pattern design and fell in love with all things art. I found your blog on a two week placement at Hallmark Cards Plc over 6 months ago, have been hooked ever since. I did decide though that the big commercial design world was not for me, so I decided that I would spread my love for design, art, expression, thrift, second hand, natural and eco friendly to our future generations through the medium of teaching. I still have my fingers crossed I will get onto the course...

I found you as a link to one of your bird drawings on another blog (I think it was 'what Charlie loved best about Clemence..' but I'm afraid I have no idea whose blog it was on!) and added you to my google reader straight away! I'm 20, currently in my last year studying physics at uni in the UK, but about to start an internship at an events management company (it's my dream to be a wedding planner - I'll get there eventually!) As soon as I start to earn money I'm going to buy one of your bird prints - probably Iced Gem bird. I *love* them and hope to have a whole wall filled with gorgeous drawings :)

I'm a 19 year old literature student in Berkeley, CA, and I love your work. I think I stumbled on an art site about a year ago, and some of your work was on it with a link to this site...so I bookmarked it! I check it every week or so to admire your meticulously adorable little birdies. They make me ridiculously happy, especially the little one with the dotty quiff.

I am a 19 year old Women and Gender studies major at SUNY Purchase in NY.
I absolutely LOVE birds and have a seagull tattoo with plans to add a lot more birds. I was searching the internet for pictures of birds in a particular style that I love and I found this blog and it was like a sign from heaven. If you don't mind I would love to get one of your birds tattooed on myself one day.
I also have plans to get something tea related tattooed with my best friend and so your birds and teacups are pretty much my favorite thing ever.

Keep making pretty things,
Leslie

My love affair with birds is fed (very well, it's getting pretty overwieght...) by your beautiful illustrations.
I'm starting up my own project called the Paper Crane Project (check out my two day old blog- it is a little bare at the moment...) which i hope will turn into something big!

Please keep on posting...

21 years old girl from Indonesia with passion of becoming an artist or illustrator, anything that involves drawing.I'm currently struggling to realize my dream or just settling myself with a job that pays the bill.I stumbled upon your blog when i was searching for any artist that can make a living out of their passion and drawing. It's something really hard to do in my country, arts and design aren't seen as something useful and as developed as other country.

But, i'm still trying my best.

I'm 63, taught English for a long time at various universities, and have always "made things," from just about every material imaginable. I think one reason I love your work is your expressive use of line. I can love almost all artistic/craft expressions, but I always come back to the beauty of line. i also love your small scale of work. When I was 13, my family moved from California to just outside London (my dad was in the Air Force), and I spent 1957 to 1960 in pretty constant bliss--riding ponies, taking the train into London now and then with my friends, touring every "historic" site with my family, etc. I really think the stork dropped me off in the wrong country, and having pondered the differences between the US and UK, I think for me one of the most important is the small scale in the British Isles. So much beauty and history and art and music...all so close together. Anyway, I love your work--my favorite bird is Sylvia and her tea bag, or maybe the one perched on the little jar of apricot jam.
Thanks for all the lovely images, Kate in Oregon

I am a 25 yr old studying to be a children's librarian, by day I work retail in a toy shop. I stumbled across a link to your bird drawings and fell in love! They are so unbelievably cute! My favorite was your teabag one, "Where would her lipstick go?" I also loved the "Sweetie" one with the bird holding the hard candy in it's beak.

I'm a 26 year old girl from Sweden, currently making my living from milking cows (I love them all), and spending the rest of the time drawing, sewing, weaving etc. A lot of time is spent in front of the computer too. I am a twenty-something attending university in Oregon. I am studying to become an accountant-- partly because I really enjoy wearing pencil skirts. I discovered your blog after you sketched that lovely drawing for Alix on the Cherry Blossom Girl website. I love tea, cupcakes, and witty animals, so I quickly began to frequent your lovely blog.

And I sure hope that the Gap picks up some of your drawings for their clothing! Nothing could be cuter than your work combined with the Gap clothing! (Did I mention I'm a Gap addict?...)

Cheers dahling!

Hello :) I am not sure how I found your blog but it was quite a while ago, must've been on Flickr I'd guess. Anyway, I've been studiously following along ever since! I'm 24, from California and wish I had even a fraction of your attention to detail. I just finished schooling (studied photog and printmaking) and am desperately trying to figure out what to do with my life. I'm a big nerd and spend most of my free time playing games, reading or cooking. I wish I exercised more often.

Oh, and I almost forgot! The title to this post reminded me of a good bad joke I hope you haven't heard before.

It's about chirpies. Have you heard? It's a canarial disease, and highly untweetable!
