The faces of Christmas shopping, going anti clockwise:
1. Pure focus, laser vision
2. Oh no, it's out of stock!
3. Hiding from the world
4. Screw you, I'm shopping for myself
I'm not sure if typing white rabbits on the first day of the month is as lucky as saying it out loud...
I'm sure if I were to celebrate Thanksgiving I would be giving thanks for trousers with an elasticated waist...
Happy Thanksgiving!
Selfridges Christmas windows are in, the Oxford Street lights are up and I'm starting to feel decidedly twinkly...
Forget about highbrow art films, Back To The Future is probably my favourite along with Indiana Jones and every Hugh Grant rom com (sorry).
Happy Back To The Future Day!
London is so beautiful and green in the sunshine!
I've just returned from New York, celebrating the big 3-0. All I can manage to write about it at the moment is zzzzzz. Foiled by jetlag again!
I've finally opened my Society6 shop which will have lots of new goodies arriving over the next week or so. Not just the Little Birds but also some new styles and sketches!
Clickety click on the pic!
Are sharks the new cats (which are the new owls, which are the new narwals etc etc) ?
Have a wonderful Easter break, everyone!
I don't want to turn the blog into a diary about being ill, frankly it would bore you as much as it would me! But I thought it would be nice to drop in some positive discoveries about living with a chronic illness...they might be few and far between but you never know, they might be useful.
So first up, a few personal lifesavers for when I'm feeling poorly and need a little boost.
My trusty red lipstick, I swear by Mac Ruby Woo or Nars Dragon Girl. If anything, the bright red distracts from the huge bags under my eyes.
Bourjois are fab for inexpensive but great quality blushers
Eve Lom Radiance Lift foundation is one of my favourites, not too heavy but enough coverage to make me look less like a zombie than usual. The brush (or the Space NK equivalent) is also brilliant if you fancy a splurge.
Aromatherapy Associates oils are wonderful for a relaxing bath to ease aching muscles. My favourites are Deep Relax (also great to dab on before sleep) and De-Stress. The good thing about these is that a little goes a long way so they last for ages.
Thisworks sleep spray has been a recent revelation, it helps me to nod off and stay asleep soundly. No idea how it works but it's a marvel!
Finally a nice fragrance to lift the mood, anything by Diptyque is great (also I'm a big Le Labo fan) but a particular favourite is Philosykos.
It's so chilly out and I have yet to find a warm coat that doesn't make me look like the Michelin Man. Let's all mentally drift away to warmer climes shall we?
