Just a quick post this morning....I'll cut out the waffle (sorry)ps. How much do I love these shoes?

Sorry to interupt the shoe love but there's been a spotting of a little bird with a penchant for tasty head wear...
ps. weather update...the sun has disappeared and it's now raining...sigh
I think it's going to be a day of shoe appreciation. The sun has come out in London (most likely momentarily but still...I savour it) and it gets me in the mood for a summer wardrobe revamp, starting with shoes!

A work in progress...I always flit from one area of a drawing to another...possibly some form of an artistic short attention span! Does anyone else do this?!
I think I've been looking at too many pictures of cupcakes on flickr
I like to think I would be brave enough to wear these tops by Smeilinener but I'm not sure...I just love the mixture of colour and patterns (and the little bobbles on the second one remind me of foil wrapped chocolates)
I also spotted this tee on the same site, I had my hair cut yesterday (into an Amelie/Louise Brooks bob) but haven't actually had long hair for years. If I ever got the hankering maybe this tee would have to suffice until it grew.
I just wanted to say a quick thank you to Bowie at Print & Pattern for posting about my work today...welcome to all of the new readers!
I've also managed a few new posts over at my other blog I Bejeweled (including some lovely birdy items by Buddug) so if you have a chance, take a peek!

These are my favourite shades of blue and green, I find them really calming even though they're pretty vibrant.
Personally, I love these
I think I've become obsessed with flamingos...I don't know whether it's their colour, look or just their kitsch value...I love em!
I've been looking at lighting on Ebay...I think this is my dream lamp for my desk (which is in the process of being tidied..who knew one person could accumulate so much junk in one small space?!)
Ooh and a quick note and apology to anyone who has emailed about prints that I haven't gotten back to...I'm slowly getting through all of my emails but if you don't get a reply soon please email me again...I'm happy to help!
I feel like I've neglected the little birds recently so they're making a welcome return. I've been so busy I haven't had time to think...a well earned break is called for!

Technically these should be doodles of chocolate eggs given the time of year but fruit and veg are so much more interesting to draw (although not necessarily as tasty!)
I fell in love with this post on The Sartorialist and had a go at translating it into an illustration. I love Anna Piaggi's fearless approach to fashion but I don't think I've done her justice...is it me or does this drawing of her look a little...well...strange is the only word I can think of!

Phew! It's been a week of work and deadlines but hopefully it will all be worth it, I'll have a few exciting bits and pieces to show soon!
In the mean time enjoy some pics of vegetables (I have no idea why I got the urge to draw these but I enjoyed it anyway!). I've always found artichokes to be beautiful in a strange way, as demonstrated here, here and here (the final one reminds me of a peacock feather) and after a little bit of digging, I realise I'm not the only one to be influenced by them.
Lovely!!

Some morning doodles...all kitchen themed from someone who generally steers clear of cooking :)
I really want one of these

...I will remain dignified and not finish the rhyme (must....resist)
