At my desk

I would love to have a tidy workspace, however the effort to 1. create it and 2. maintain it is almost too much for me to bear. Shopping with having that space in mind is much more fun.

For the Boys, Take Two

As Peacocks Hat mentioned on my last post, everything was a little on the pricey side. I suppose that's why I put them in the Gimme Gimme Gimme category, because they're more aspirational than anything. So I've put together another (equally covetable!) version that is a lot more appealing to me, and hopefully you, pricewise!

Uniqlo: Cotton crew neck sweater
Dylon: White fabric paint
John Lewis: Bow tie
ASOS: Suede brogue shoes
Topman: Grey marl jersey cardigan
Emma Ferguson: Tattoo brooch
New Look: Mens hooded duffle jacket
Ally Capellino: Tate shopper

For the boys

I would have no hesitation whatsoever in borrowing these if the occasion arose. And by borrowing I mean permanently moving them into my wardrobe.

Mad Men

I've started watching Mad Men and it's slowly infiltrating all areas of my life (not to mention the fact that the theme tune seems to be stuck on repeat in my head)

Feathers and a bag to store cake in

Another new outfit post over on The Wingtipper (including a satchel that would store a lovely swiss roll cake)

Gimme gimme gimme...a mixed bag

There's no fixed Gimme Gimme Gimme theme today, it's simply bits and bobs that caught my eye over the weekend.
These Polaroid scarves by Philippe Roucou blew me away the first time I saw them. To be honest I'm surprised no one had made them earlier because of the square format fitting so well. Each print is a found polaroid, hence the name, which is what I really love...turning a random found object into a piece of wearble art.

I'm always on the hunt for heeled shoes that actually look comfortable so I tend to stick to wedges (mainly because I can balance in them). Plus I'm really digging the Yves Klein blue.

Cake cake cake!

It's a tea and cake themed gimme gimme gimme today. I used the bird design above as a Mother's Day card for my mum, it's the standard conversation that goes on between her and my dad when cake is involved...

Style Salvage

A big thank you to EJ & Steve of Style Salvage for featuring some of my doodles today. I highly recommend their blog and not just because they say I'm lovely (trust me, Oscar the Grouch has nothing on me when I'm in a mood)

Secret Garden

I spotted this on Daily Candy this morning and thought it was such a cute idea that I had to blog about it.
I'm not a greenfingered person at all, many an Ikea pot plant has perished at my hands but I think I could manage these little desktop gardens (you can't kill cress can you?!).

And whilst I'm on a gardening/floral theme...

1. Merci for Liberty
2. Paul Smith: Floral wedge
3. My Sugarland: Vintage floral tapestry bag
4. Topshop: Orange blossom crochet dress
5. Alex Monroe: Tag necklace from The Gardener collection

Laura Tabor

I've been given an exclusive preview of Laura Tabor's sweet new collection and I can assure you it is as lovely as the sweeties it draws inspiration from.
Made of up pieces inspired by traditional sweets of childhood, who could resist teeny golden sugarmice?!

Just Peachy

To be honest, I'm far from peachy today having fractured a rib. But cheering myself by looking at pretty things always helps. Just don't make me laugh please, it may cause me to explode :)

The colour with no name

The colour with no name is one of my favourite colours, any pointers on what it's called?

Sonia and Robert Delaunay often used it within their work, as does David Hockney and although I can spot it on the colour wheel I'm still clueless as to what it's actually called!

Acorn friend

When Elsa had resorted to painting faces on acorns she knew it was time to find a mate

When ever I see bows I am always reminded of Clara Bow, the silent film actress and original "It Girl" of the twenties. Her life story isn't as cheering as the bowtiful bows below but intriguing nonetheless. I'm thinking a flapper fashion post is called for very soon!

Gimme Gimme Gimme

I'm all about prints today. Maybe it's because the sun is finally shining and I'm seeing colour everywhere...and just a wee bit of history for you, printing on plain fabric developed in response to the popularity of "chintz"(which were textiles imported from India to Europe) in the early seventeenth century. I do love a good bit of chintz!
